Unfortunately, I do not have the square footage of the room, but its an average size med bedroom. I’m realizing that if finances permit, it may be best to refinish the wood floor prior to moving in furniture.
If so, how much did it cost and who did you go through? I’m trying to get rough estimates without having to call contractors and deal with the sales pitch. Don’t know the exact measurements but it’s for a smallish living room and hallway. We were going to do it ourselves, but if it’s not too expensive I rather have someone come do it. We’re in central New Jersey.
My toddler had an undiscovered accident on our livingroom rug. It soaked into our wood floor and left a black spot about 3′x3′. We are moving from this apartment and do not want to loose our deposit. We don’t have much $, but can someone tell us how we can repair just this small area on the floor.
It is a real wood floor. Maple would be my guess, but maybe oak. I don’t know too much about wood flooring.
What are the pros/cons of oil vs. water based hardwood floor refinishing?
I’m getting my hardwood floors refinished and am not sure which to do. I’ve heard they look differently aesthetically and that oil fumes last longer, but I’m getting mixed info on which is more durable.
My house has a modern/contemporary style and I’m not refinishing areas that run the risk of frequently getting water on it (i.e., not refinishing the kitchen or bathroom floors).
I purchased a home in Salt Lake City, Utah built in 1916. Right now there is carpet on the floors but I’ve pulled up pieces of it and there is wood floor beneath.
I would like to just pull the carpet and refinish the wood but how can I know if my floor is a good candidate for refinishing? Also, could it be subfloor?
Thanks!
I’m going to be rehabbing a house that had some roofing problems and damaged the hardwood floors in certain areas. I was told that I could hire someone to sand the floors and refinish them for a cost. Does this effectively remove the signs of water damage?
Also, what are you guessing the rate is for hardwood resurfacing in Chicago, IL?
Thank you!
