Absolutely.Just make sure that you install the new flooring across the old and not along with it.And don’t forget to lay rosin paper before the installation.

    If its actual hardwood, you’d be ahead to simply refinish it. Be a lot less expensive than purchasing a whole new floor.

    Basic steps are to sand it down, apply a filler, stain, and then top coat. It’s not too difficult to find a contractor in this line of work, if you’d rather not tackle it yourself, and they should have it done in just a few days (have to allow for dry time between the steps)
