Read and white oak are the most common species.

Maple is good too.

    Oak or some other light color wood.

    That way if the room is too bright, you can paint the walls a darker color. But if you put a dark wood on the floor, you are stuck with a dark room.

    oak floors are the most common, you may buy unfinished and stain whatever color you want or buy a prefinished floor with a variety of colors and patterns..or leave it natural and just put about 3 coats of polyurethane on it…good luck

    I love the look of Maple.
    It has a nice creamy color with beautiful light brown grain. It’s also very durable and not as common as oak.
