Currently, I am working as a floor installer for a contractor but I want to branch out on my own. My background is in the installation of flooring in commercial buildings, however, I do not know what venues are available to find out current bid invitations. I would like direction from the readers as to where I may look on the Web for this information.

I TRY TO HELP BUT I DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER
Here’s a flooring search directory:
http://directory.findanyfloor.com/
Pick your city, state etc. and find local floor stores near you, go there personally and find out some prices. Then start your business plan with some legit, and correct ideas on what others are doing when it comes to pricing etc. and maybe even being contracted from your local store. Its a good start! check it out!
You need to advertise.Obviously, you don’t have that big of a budget right now, so I would try something fairly inexpensive.First, I’d place the ads on Craigslist(if you will make them catchy, believe me, you will get a response. Also I’d try a local phonebook. They will charge you around $30-$40, but you will get some work out of it.Try your local newspaper too.
Good luck!
