I had carpet floors and ripped it off. its has plywood now and I plan to have eng. wood installed. I want to know if gluing it will create any problems as I think using nails , staples, is not recommended for the thickness of wood I am using ( 3/8 inch ).
So does gluing create problems like squeaking etc.
Also if its glued is it difficult to remove a certain area if its damaged in the future.
( the room is above my basement ).

depending on thickness of wood flooring, you use nails/staples to install, the hardware store should carry all sizes of nails/staples.Did you check on a flooring stapler?they do come in a smaller size,Bostitch carries some.
The new engineered floors are free floating. No nails no glue they are tongue and groove and just lock into each other. Check out Pergo flooring website and read the installation directions.
All eng wood floors can be glued or stapled.. You can rent a stapler from most rental places.. HD has them in their rental places.. I own one.. Check on the length of staple your particular floor manufacture recommends.. They range from 1 inch to 1 3/4 inch… Glue works well but can be a bit messy..Not all eng wood floors are free floating.. There are a few but not many..Proper trowel and staple spacing varies too so make sure you do it the right way for the system you choose GL
