Can I stain my floors and put the top coat of polyurethane on a couple days later? We sanded down our floors and are ready to stain but would like to have some friends over for an anniversary party this Friday. Obviously, the polyurethane wouldn’t be dry in time. We can always have the party elsewhere but it’d be easier at our house. What do you think? What would happen to unsealed stained floors with chairs and foot traffic? The stain color would be ebony

My friend and I wanted to start a hardwood floor refinishing business. This would be part time to start with, in addition to our full time jobs. He actually did this under someone for a while but that was about 5 years ago. I was just wondering if there was anyone here who owns that type of business and if so what you charge a square foot and how do you like it.

Is there any way to remedy this?
The people who lived in this house before need to be slapped for doing this. Underneath the linoleum and subfloor in my kitchen is some 100 year old maple flooring with lots of bird’s eye maple in it. I want to refinish it but I’m afraid the nail holes will be too much.
Good answers so far…much appreciated!
