I have a wood plank floor that was “finished” at one time — ’bout 65 years ago.. Since then it has been covered with carpet and the finish is pretty much gone. There are no gaps/chips/rot… How can I redo these (with a light finish) on a budget? I think I’d have to sand them lightly —- thats all I know
My toddler had an undiscovered accident on our livingroom rug. It soaked into our wood floor and left a black spot about 3′x3′. We are moving from this apartment and do not want to loose our deposit. We don’t have much $, but can someone tell us how we can repair just this small area on the floor. It is a real wood floor.
I have Bruce flooring that has received some minor water damage. The finish has come off, but the wood looks fine. Can we just sand it down with a hand sander and reapply a clear finish? This would just be a quick temporary fix since we are looking at replacing the flooring in the whole room in a few years.
If so, how much did it cost and who did you go through? I’m trying to get rough estimates without having to call contractors and deal with the sales pitch. Don’t know the exact measurements but it’s for a smallish living room and hallway. We were going to do it ourselves, but if it’s not too expensive I rather have someone come do it. We’re in central New Jersey.
